How to configure Outlook e-mail on iPhone

Follow the steps below for how to configure Office 365 on iPhone.

Step 1

Note: If you have a work account that requires the Intune Company Portal app, install it from the App Store before setting up Outlook for iOS. Your IT admin may or may not also require you to Enroll your iOS device in Intune.

Download Outlook for iOS from the iOS App Store and then open it. The icon looks like this:

Step 2

If it’s your first time using Outlook for iOS, enter your full email address, then tap Add Account.

If not, open the Menu > tap Settings Outlook app settings > Add Account >Add Email Account.

If you’re asked to select your email provider, please contact your IT admin for support as there may be a misconfiguration.

You can also set up your email account manually or use IMAP/POP.

Step 4

Enter your email account password and tap Sign In.

Note: The sign in screen may look different for you depending on your email provider.

Enter your Outlook.com password

Step 5

If multi-factor authentication is enabled, verify your identity. For more information, see Security info overview.

Check your text messages and enter the 6 digit code.

Step 6

Accept any prompts for permission you may receive.

Swipe through the features and you’re now ready to use Outlook for iOS!

How to Migrate AutoCAD Settings

How to Migrate AutoCAD Settings

Applies to migrate AutoCAD settings for 2007-2017, AutoCAD Architecture 2008-2017, AutoCAD LT 2007-2017, AutoCAD MEP 2008-2017

Problem:

After installing a new version of AutoCAD, you want to know how to migrate AutoCAD settings from the older product version into the new version.

Resolution:

Migration utility

This utility transfers settings from an older version you specify to the version you chose to run the migration for. The utility for migrating settings in AutoCAD is located under:

Start > All Programs > Autodesk > AutoCAD 20xx > Migrate Custom Settings > Migrate From a Previous Release

Notes:

  • After you install AutoCAD and launch it for the first time, the migration utility runs automatically. This only happens the first time you run AutoCAD. The first time you open a newly installed program, you may want to cancel the migration window, allow AutoCAD to configure itself with default settings, and then run the migration utility afterwards. There is no limit on the use of the migration utility.
  • To be successful, the language version of AutoCAD must be the same. For example, you cannot migrate settings  between an English and a German installation of AutoCAD.
  • Some versions of AutoCAD do not support migrating settings and do not have the Migrate From a Previous Release menu item.

Migrating between computers

You cannot use this utility to migrate between computers. No files are exported or saved that you can move to another system. To migrate settings between computers, try the following methods:

Migrating from old to new computers: 

  1. Install the newer version of AutoCAD in trial mode on the old system.
  2. Migrate settings to that version as you install.
  3. On the Start menu, use the Export [product_name] Settings option under the Migrate Custom Utilities menu to export those settings.
  4. Copy the resulting ZIP file to the new computer.
  5. Import the settings using the Import [product_name] Settings option under the Migrate Custom Utilities menu.

Migrating settings for newer programs that cannot be used on an older computer system:

  1. On the Start menu, use the Export [product_name] Settings option under the Migrate Custom Utilities menu to export settings from the old computer.
  2. Copy the ZIP file to the new computer.
  3. Install the older version of AutoCAD in trial mode on the new computer.
  4. Import the desired settings using the Import [product_name] Settings option under the Migrate Custom Utilities menu.
  5. Migrate the settings to the new AutoCAD version using the Migration utility.

Windows 10 is here and many users are becoming familiar with their new system and finding out what it can do. Like with any good OS, Windows 10 has advantages over its predecessors. Here are four of our favorite features, and here’s a more extensive list of features.

OneDrive Integration

Microsoft’s OneDrive cloud storage solution is a big part of Windows 10, which makes sense with the cloud being so prominent these days. With Microsoft’s upgrade to Windows 10 comes a more integrated OneDrive for your data-sharing needs. For example, OneDrive is no longer exclusive to Microsoft; it now lets you access files using your Android or iOS device. Plus, you can use OneDrive to remotely access any files on your Windows 10 PC–not just the files stored in OneDrive.

Battery Saver

If you’re using Windows 10 on a mobile device or laptop, you don’t have to monitor your battery levels quite as closely as you used to. With the new Battery Saver feature, Windows 10 will automatically detect when your power levels get low and respond by powering down your non-essential background applications. This will perhaps give you a few extra minutes to make it to that wall charger. To enable Battery Saver, go to Start menu > Settings > System > Battery Saver.

Background Scrolling

One common pitfall for Windows users is to be actively working with an app, and then hovering your cursor over another open app that’s on your screen, but not one that’s selected. You then go to scroll up or down, but to no avail because the app isn’t selected as the primary app. Granted, this isn’t a huge problem because all you have to do is click once on the background app to select it and then you can scroll like you need to. Yet, it’s still enough of an inconvenience for Microsoft to address it with Windows 10. To turn on Background Scrolling so that you won’t have to again be bothered by this, go to Settings > Devices > Mouse and Touchpad.

Customize your Start Menu Apps

Windows 10 nearly eliminated the Windows 8 Metro interface. What’s left of it can be found on the new Windows 10 Start Menu. Instead of having a full screen view, you can pin your most important apps to this for quick access. To do this, click the Start Menuand click on All Apps. Scroll to an application you’d like to add, right click it, and select Pin to Start. This will put a shortcut to the application on the right side of the Start Menu. You can edit the apps on the right side of the Start Menu by right clicking them. You can change their size or unpin them if you want to remove them.

Windows 10 is poised to be a major player in both office and personal computing environments for years to come, which means that we’ll have plenty of time to discover even more of its unique and helpful features. What is the Dropbox Duplicate Files Problem?

  • If two people change the same file at the same time, Dropbox won’t merge the changes. Instead, it saves the original file and creates a second version which has the same name but is appended with “conflicted copy”.
  • Dropbox claims that “By creating a conflicted file, Dropbox ensures that all changes are preserved and nobody will overwrite another person’s hard work.”
  • The Problem is that Julie has just lost two hours of spreadsheet work since James was working on that spreadsheet at the same time.
  • Now Julie has to manually compare her copy and merge her changes manually with James’ copy, wasting hours of precious time.

Why companies continue to use the software despite the Dropbox duplicate files problem?

  1. We are coming across more companies where managers, directors, or execs don’t know their employees are all struggling with Dropbox.
  2. Companies don’t realize that there are business-grade file sync and share programs that have already solved this problem.

How to Solve the Dropbox Duplicate Files Problem?

Dropbox’s answer:
  1. One workaround is to move the file out of the Dropbox folder while editing it. Once you’re done editing, you can move the file back into its original location in the Dropbox folder. It will reappear with your edits for all users who have file access.
  2. Another option is to move the file into a second folder designated for “In Use” files. Other members of the shared folder can still access it if they need to, but will know not to make changes.

  • “Scareware” – You’re on a website and a pop-up comes up telling you that your computer is infected.  This may not be a notice by your anti-virus program but is just an animated picture on the website you visited.  If you click on the website then the malware is installed.

  • Disguised Adware – Look at the headings or subheadings to see if it might be adware.  Sometimes you can just hover over the icon, and not click, then look for the web address that the link would take you to.  To do this, while hovering over a link, look for the address in the bottom left corner in your web browser.disguisedadware
